Last two nights in Cambodia

The drive back from Kampot seemed much sorter and then it was pointed out to me that because of Chinese New Year the traffic was lighter than normal. We arrived back for our third visit to the Pavilion hotel. It felt good to be so familiar with our digs and it was our third different room. And we signed up for our third complimentary message. We had arranged before going to Kampot and through the Pavilion for all of us to take a cooking class the next morning. As luck would have it they had messed up with reserving the space for us and would we please accept a one hour full body oil message for each of us. How perfect as Kim & Anne got in the Wednesday class and Eric and I had our massages instead.

The class involved going to the market, selecting the ingredients and then going back to the chef's house for all to learn and cook. They loved it. Meanwhile there was a huge funeral that Eric and I went to. Look for the funeral article in this link. http://www.thecambodiaherald.com/ the guy was evidently the equivalent to a Newt Gingrich or a Tip O'Neill.

This is the Cambodian prime minister in the viewing stands. Can't believe how close we were.

The day before we did more site seeing. This is The Silver Pagoda and inside the Emerald Buddha (no photos allowed). This is one of many buildings on the grounds of the Royal Palace.

Last night with Michael at Hurley's Cantina looking over some old Phnom Penh Posts.

Flying out of Phnom Penh - heading to Hanoi. Kim and Eric on the same plane getting off in Vientiane, Laos. They will hook up with us again on February 1st for two nights together in Hanoi. After that Anne and I will go to Myanmar for eight days and K & E will go back down through Laos to PP. We just arrived in Hanoi last night and leave for Halong Bay tomorrow. We had an amazing day in the city today and I will try to pick 15 of the couple of hundred of pictures we took today to include in the next blog. Stay tuned...
