Our flight got into Hanoi at about 8:30 at night from PP. After an easy entry through immigration we were met by our guide Quang and our driver Cow. They couldn't have been friendlier as they answered our zillion questions on the 1/2 drive from the airport. Hanoi is such a contrast to Phnom Penh both in terms of weather but culturally and scale as well. It is like Chinatown in NYC on steroids. 4 million people with 2 million motor bikes. But there are not many tall building so the scale is comfortable. We have to get going for 2 days in Halong Bay so hereis the first full day in photos. Again they don't do it justice.
Wow, what a difference! You're wearing fleece! With chairs like these I imagine there are not many couch potatoes in Hanoi. Love the last shot here with the red bridge, its reflection, and the family.
love the roof on the tribal house... can't believe the tiny stools at coffee stop... lee would never make it there... fleece and jackets and hats... much cooler weather!
