It is the night before we leave for 36 days to South East Asia and we are nearly all packed and ready to go. All things at home are buttoned up. All of the design projects at work are under control thanks to Bill & Paul. Our friends Eric and Kim Morris in Homer Alaska are all set to meet us in Phnom Phen at the Pavillion Hotel on the 10th of January. The four of us will meet up with our old friend Mike Hayes who has live in PP for the past 20+ years.
We will try to update everyone through this blog. Neither Annie or I have ever done a blog before. This in itself will be an adventure. We plan to take many photos and download some good ones to this site so you all can follow our journey and read about our trip.
Some of you may have heard the story that Kim & Eric visited us in Old Mystic last August on their way to the Cape. I suggested that we ought to go see Mike Hayes in Cambodia before we're too old or he happens to decide to move back to the states. 3 weeks later Eric emails and says they got their tickets. Anne & I looked at each other and said let's do it. And here we are on the eve of the trip. We will spend the first 12 days with Kim & Eric in Cambodia, then will meet up with them again a week later in Hanoi. Then Anne & I fly to Myanmar for 7 days and then 3 days in Bangkok and then home. Kim & Eric are doing Cambodia, Laos, North Vietnam and South Vietnam and we are doing Cambodia, North Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand.
This blog will be like a diary for us and a great way to stay in touch with all our loved ones. Hope it keeps your interest.
Here we go!
Safe travels you two!! Can't wait to see/read the updates!! xoxo Alice
