Into the countryside

Yesterday we rented a van and headed to a small village about 1.5 hour drive north of Phnom Penh. Having Michael with us is invaluable. First of all, negotiating for the car and driver was a real lesson. The hotel told us that it would be $80 for the van to drive there up and back. Michael got the driver and van for 5 hours for $60. Bargaining is a way of life here.

Michael talking to a woman who sells a bunch of small denomination bills for $2.50 so you can give a little bit to many and to make many offerings at the temples at the top of the hill. P

Our guides up the 200 steps to see some Buddhist temples and back down the 529 steps on the other side.

Eric and Kim brought pins for all the kids. They were a big hit.

Stopped for a cold beer before heading back to PP

Anne took a drip in our hotel pool before dinner last night. This morning we are heading to bar to watch the Pats.
