The 3 nights in Siem Reap

This Victoria Hotel we stayed in Siem Reap was worth a few more photos. We left there this morning after touring the temples for two days. I took a ton of temple photos but didn't want to bore people with too many more after seeing so many in the Angkor Wat blog. With all the photos we've taken they really don't do what we have experienced justice. Everyplace one turns is worth a photo. But these are more pics from Siem Reap. Tomorrow I will send pics of our 6 hour boat ride back to PP. I haven't even downloaded those but they should be pretty colorful. We walked through different parts of the town all three nights. This fish nippling massage is pretty popular here. For a dollar you put your feet in with the fish and they eat away any dead skin you might have. We took a pass on that one. Tia town has an amazing energy at night. The restaurants all try to get you in early with happy hours from 5-7. Of course we got sucked in pretty easily being on vacation and all. The first night we got to town we had arranged to have dinner with Heather Connell. We had met her in Bangkok at the airport waiting for our flight to Phnom Penh. Heather comes to Siem Reap about 4 times a year and she has been doing this for the past 6 years. So she was really helpful with setting expectations for us as we first arrived into this colorful country. She is a documentary film maker from Los Angeles. She made a film called Small Voices that you can find on Netflix about the kids who survive by picking garbage at the Phnom Penh dump. Since then she has started a non-profit clinic in Siem Reap for kids who suffer from all kinds of diseases and medical needs. Heather has a staff of 5 that includes a nurse and on top of that she has adopted 2 of the children. We had a great meal with her at her favorite restaurant FCC. More just random shots. Totally exhausted from boat ride today. More tomorrow .
